The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the West Akyem Municipal Assembly, Seth Oduro Boadu, has stated that the success chalked by the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration within its first two years in office, cannot be matched by any other government within the forth republic.
Listing some key achievements of the government such as the free Senior High School (SHS), the Nation’s Builders Corp, the Planting for Food and Jobs and some infrastructural achievement within his municipality – the MCE challenged the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to provide, with verifiable facts, their achievements within their first two years in office between 2009 and 2011.
Mr. Oduro-Boadu was speaking at the third anniversary launch of the Lower West Akyem Constituency chapter of the NPP all ladies group, the Loyal Ladies. He admonished the members of the group to help the party in trumpeting the successes of the Akufo-Addo government. He charged the ladies to go all out to visit various markets and villages to disseminate the success story of the government.
On her part, the National President of the Loyal Ladies, Ms. Adwoa Poomah Siaw assured the party of the unflinching support of members of the group. She stated that, just as the group has done for the party for the last three years, they would continue to cross rivers, climb mountains and do their part to help the party maintain power in 2020.
She debunked allegations thrown out there that, members of the group engaged in illicit relationships with big men for material gains. Ms. Pomaa Siaw stated that, nobody goes about trumpeting her sexual life and so if they wanted to engage in prostitution, there would not have been any reason to come together to form a group. She said though the prostitution tag is worrying, members of the group have taken that as part of the hazards associated with politics and so they are unfazed, adding that the insults and attacks will not deter them from working for the NPP and the Nana Akufo-Addo government.
The group as part of the activities for the launch embarked on a health walk through the principal streets of Asamankese and also organized a free health screening for the people of the constituency.
Dr William Lamptey, co-Director of the STC Health Portal Medical Clinic, who led a team of medical expert to organize the health screening, advised the beneficiaries to refrain from self medication. He stated that self medication only complicates the problems it is meant to solve and encouraged them to see a medical professional, before taking any form of medication whenever they feel any form of illness or pains in their bodies.
