Coach Diego Simeone's side have been preparing ahead of the upcoming season with rigorous exercises but are yet to play their first official preseason game.
However, the Argentine has divided the available squad into two, playing games against themselves.
Ghana International Thomas Partey has been heavily involved in the sides preseason activities. He scored in training for his select side led by Argentine forward Angel Corea.
In that match, Diego Simeone lined Jan Oblak with Juanfran Torres, Toni Moya, Javier Montero and AndrÃ©s Solano in defense; Correa, Thomas, Rodrigo HernÃ¡ndez and Vitolo in midfield; and Luciano Vietto with the youthful Borja GarcÃ©s in the attack.
During the game, interrupted on several occasions to focus on certain aspects, such as pressure on the exit of the opposing team's ball, introduced Roberto Olabe as left-back and tested with the youthful striker Joaquin in the lead.
The Rojiblancos will be engaging in preseason friendlies against Arsenal, PSG and Inter Milan before their UEFA Super Cup clash against Real Madrid.
