Gov’t has no case for introducing Public University Bill – CDD

The Ghana Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) has said that the government of Ghana has no reason to introduce the Public University Bill, 2020.

“It is the considered view of CDD-Ghana that government has not made a case for this bill,” the CDD said in a memo to Parliament’s Committee of Education.

The Bill, when passed, will among other things, see basic schools, senior high schools, and TVET institutions being managed by District Assemblies, Regional Education Directorates, and a Director-General, independent of the Ghana Education Service.
