Glorious summer – everyone is so much happier when the sun is shining and the sky is blue.
But be honest, the hot weather can also result in us not smelling as fresh as we might.
That morning shower and those lashing of deodorant? All traces are gone by lunch time.
Our shoes can also suffer and become a breeding ground for bacteria with the warmer temperatures, and smelly shoes can make the wearer feel very self-conscious.
Also, imagine the horror of going somewhere where you had to take them off?
Luckily, the Queen of Clean aka cleaning guru Lynsey Crombie, 40, has a trick to save your shoes.
“…There is nothing worse than smelly shoes,” she wrote.
“Pop a few tea bags inside your smelly shoes to fight off bad odours that are caused by heat and bacteria.”
Describing the trick as an “oldie but a goodie”, Lynsey also advises, “The longer you leave the better. Any tea bags will work, even the minty herbal ones.”
The trick works because tea bags, which are very absorbent, suck out the moisture and pong from their surrounding area.
Lynsey adds: “To save waste, make sure you reuse the ones from your shoes for other household tasks.”
Please, whatever you do, don’t use them in a cup of tea.
